The Tailored Skirt + Real Talk

Hey guys! Today’s post isn’t really about this outfit. Well, let’s just say I love this blue skirt (great fit, great price) and got this shirt on sale from BR, one of my favorite work wear stores.

Now, onto the real deal. Welcome to my most vulnerable post yet…

I’ve been sort of feeling uninspired lately and was reconsidering blogging as a whole. I feel like just another one among the sea of bloggers that are pushing content everyday. It’s hard to put yourself out there and not get as much traction as you hope. It’s been 6 months since I started this blog, and I’m not certain that it’s reaping the returns I’d hoped it would. I’m all about efficiency, and when I realised that the time I invest into my blog was not giving me tangible rewards, I questioned it all the more.

But, there’s one thing that hasn’t changed since the start – my love for putting outfits together. I still feel excited when I walk into my closet and run my fingers through hangers full of clothes (um ok, creepy). I love love love the process of combining unexpected pieces and creating a cool outfit and then documenting it on social media, as weird as that sounds. And for now, I think that gratification is enough reason for me to continue doing this. Sometimes the “why” does not need to be complicated. Sometimes it’s because it makes you happy πŸ™‚

If you’re a blogger that’s felt this way before, let me know! I’d love to hear πŸ˜€

  1. I love that you do this! It’s great to see all your talents – fashion and engineering because those don’t always go together. Keep it up!

  2. I loved this outfit. And you know, I follow so many fashion bloggers (PS: my favorite time pass). You are right, there are so many bloggers out there. But , everyone is unique in a way. As in your case, I love how you match all affordable pieces (formal and casual) that’s so interesting. And yeah Engineering and Fashion that’s a killing combo. So “Keep doing what makes you happy”.?
    Love your work ?

  3. I love your style girl…but I feel blogging is a game of patience. Your efforts will surely reap, sooner or later. Keep up the good work!!
    PS: Love your skirt..
    Love, Nistha

  4. I see your point gal. I am pretty much in the same boat. 6 month old blog. Balancing life between 9 to 5 engineering job and then later social life plus blogging. Sleeping late to work on the blog. But remember, we started this coz we love this. To share our love for fashion and our unique way of styling. It might take time to achive what we aimed for, but right now, enjoy this. I skip my blogs or insta posts from time to time cz of other priorities in life. Just keep going and enjoy. I love your posts.
    PS. Your skirt is fabulous!
