Hola from Mexico! I’ve come to realize over the past two days that my Spanish accent is terrible – but that hasn’t stopped me from trying to pick up as many touristy words as I can 😉
I’m on a corporate retreat (3 weeks after I joined the company 😛 ) at Playa del Carmen, and I decided that it was the perfect segue into travel blogging. I’m staying at the Mahekal Beach Resort, a beautiful spot with quaint cottages and an entire strip of beach all to itself!
On Friday, we had a strategic planning session and I wanted to wear a work appropriate outfit that still played with cool toned beachy colors, so I wore this dark blue shirt tucked into my white skirt. I clearly love this color combination, as I wore it on my first day too!
In the evening, we had a beautiful dinner set up by the beach with pretty lights and great food (cream cheese stuffed fried plantain anyone?). I wanted to wear something beach appropriate to combat the humidity, so I wore these airy shorts and a white floral lace top. I added a neck tie to complete the outfit – a trend from last year that I’ve seen being carried into this season too.
I’m going on a boat trip tomorrow, so that should be fun! I hope you enjoyed my first attempt at a travel blog post 🙂 have a great weekend!
PS: This post was supposed to go up on Friday night, but my resort’s Wifi felt otherwise 😐 be on the lookout for part 2 later this week!
